WASHINGTON —U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Carl Levin (D-MI) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice is awarding a total of $514,251 to Muskegon and Detroit to help reduce recidivism rates among former offenders and provide them with job placement assistance. The funding will be awarded to the Jail Diversion and Reentry Pilot Project of Muskegon County and the Bridge to Success Transitional Jobs Program of the Detroit Workforce Development Department as part of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant Program.
