(Washington, DC) – Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) and 92 members of Congress today sent the following letter to World Bank President Robert Zoellick, urging the World Bank to create a $200 million grant program to reach the very poor with microfinance loans. The Members of Congress also call for the designation of regionally-focused Centers of Excellence and the creation of apex funds to facilitate the disbursement of microfinance funds.
