WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) today announced that the city of Marshall will receive a $765,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development program. The city also will receive a $1,738,000 loan from USDA. These funds will be used to construct a new waste water treatment plant. The new plant will replace a system constructed in 1960 that experiences breakdowns and high repair costs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) recently announced that Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) will be awarded $399,722 through the Strengthening Institutions Program operated by the United States Department of Education. It is anticipated that this grant will be for a total of 5 years. The funding will be used to provide academic support for college-preparatory students, offer on-campus/online student services, and create high-demand online courses currently not available at ASUMH. The program will also provide faculty and staff with training and development to ensure curriculum is delivered effectively.

The Medicare bill, which passed both the House and Senate with veto-proof margins, included Berry's bill H.R. 1474, the Fair and Speedy Treatment (FAST) of Medicare Prescription Drug Claims Act of 2007.
